Training

Good training provides the cornerstone of every fire safety policy, from appropriate employee induction training to general staff fire awareness and specific fire marshal/warden training.

Our trainers are former fire officers who have trained professional fire-fighters in operational firefighting techniques, have a wealth of experience in fire training to businesses and should be able to answer all of your fire safety related questions.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order states:

'The responsible person must ensure that his employees are provided with adequate safety training...'

The Fire Safety Consultancy can provide general staff awareness training in groups of up to 25 persons and Fire Marshal/Warden training individually or in groups of up to 12 persons.

The General Staff Awareness Course takes around 1 1/2 hours and includes:

  • Workplace fire safety
  • Signage
  • Fire compartmentation/fire doors
  • Use of extinguishers - theory
  • Action in the event of fire

The Fire Marshal/Warden Course takes around 2 1/2 hours and includes all the above and:

  • The role of the fire warden
  • Use of extinguishers - practical
  • The fire risk assessment process - optional.

Courses are usually held at your premises but can be held at the location of your choice (in the case of multi-site businesses).
