Fire Management Plans
Often the completion of a fire risk assessment is not enough to ensure the ongoing fire safety of a premises. In this circumstance, often on the recommendation of the local inspecting authority, the solution is a Fire Management Plan which goes into detail on each aspect of the management and maintenance of fire preventative and precautionary measures.
Fire Survey
This service is aimed at a number of different clients: it may be businesses who may have moved into new premises, are considering installing a new fire alarm system or emergency lighting and are looking for impartial advice.
It may be a business which has re-arranged their warehouse or other areas and need to have the location of exit signs and extinguishers re-assessed.
Most particularly, this service is of use to Farms and other Agri-businesses where there are a significant number of combustible materials, various chemicals and equipment but very few employees. A fire may not be significant in terms of life safety but could cause severe disuption and loss of income if machinery is destroyed or harvest lost. We will advice on simple cost-effective steps that can be taken to minimise the risk of fire occurring at your farm.
This service is particularly useful to architects, developers and interior designers who are fitting out a new or refurbished building. We can give advice following a site visit or from existing plans.
Negotiation
Often, especially in the case of refurbishment of listed buildings, implementation of the Building Regs Approved Document B clashes with the stipulations of the Historic Building listing. We are happy to advise clients on alternatives to the standard fire protection approach and will, if required, negotiate with the local authority on their behalf.
Drawing
We can also provide CAD drawings showing layouts for emergency routes, alarm system layouts or the location of fire-fighting equipment. Hotel bedrooms should include exit route-maps along with the emergency procedures posted in each room.
